Founded in 1964, the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm) is a public scientific and technological institute which operates under the joint authority of the French Ministry of Health and French Ministry of Research. As the only French public research institute to focus entirely on human health, in 2008 Inserm took on the responsibility for the strategic, scientific and operational coordination of biomedical research. This key role as coordinator comes naturally to Inserm thanks to the scientific quality of its teams and its ability to conduct translational research, from the laboratory to the patient’s bed. |

French National Blood Center
The French National Blood Center is the only civilian blood transfusion organization in France. Blood transfusion, to which the EFS has held exclusive rights since 2000, includes blood donation, plasma donation and platelet donation. The French National Blood Center guarantees the safety of the transfusion chain, from the donor to the receiver. It contributes to treating over 1 million patients |
Bordeaux University Hospital Center ("CHU Bordeaux")
A public health, the Bordeaux University Hospital is managed by Pr Philippe VIGOUROUX. CHU of Bordeaux, encompasses three hospital sites that provide support for care of the population of Bordeaux and Aquitaine. Closely associated with the University of Bordeaux, these site contribute consistently to medical training, surgical, pharmaceutical and dental in the region as well as fundamental research in conjunction with the CNRS and INSERM units and French National Blood Center. |
